It's not all strictly Funk, with many of the tracks sitting in that liminal space between Funk and other genres, like Disco and Hip Hop, and their bastard lovechild, Breakbeat, but each tune has something funky about it. And we have representations of funk from every decade from the 60s on. I also had a sudden realisation, while trying to beat match a couple of awkward tunes, that James Brown and Prince were playing broken beat before broken beat was cool.
